Member Feedback

The Ground Crew peer group has been a great experience, and I am proud to be a part of it. Its like having insider information to help boost your business and maximize our profits. Its also great to learn from other’s mistakes and have group of experts all working toward the same goal.

I've been searching for a group since last fall when Herb Sargent suggested it. I've talked to others in the industry who are also members of construction peer groups and highly suggest it. I would tell them that just this one meeting was better than any other conference I have attended.

Being part of the Ground Crew peer group has been a really good experience for me. It is so energizing to learn how other companies and areas are working in their business and on their business. The energy and ideas that come from the group working together to help each other is so beneficial to our companies and industry for today and into the future.

Being part of this peer group has been incredibly valuable. It's refreshing to collaborate with fellow contractors who face similar challenges and celebrate similar successes. In just a short time, we've implemented numerous improvements in our business based on the insights and mentorship shared within the group. We look forward to continuing to learn, contribute, and grow together.

Go into it with an open and learning mind set. The conversation around business will give you so many ideas to take away use in your own way so long as you are there to grow your business and improve/invest in your people.

I have been looking for an industry specific peer group for several years now. Ground Crew gives us the opportunity to collaborate with other contractors that are similar in size and facing similar challenges as we are, without being direct competitors. This allows for completely open transparent communication on a wide variety of subjects, allowing us to learn and grow together.

I would highly recommend signing up to be part of the Ground Crew. The bonds you build with individuals facing the same situations as you on a day-to-day basis is unmatched. It allows you to ask the questions and get feedback from them, which is something you typically can’t get from other contractors in your trade. If you are on the fence about joining, just think of one issue that you’ve dealt with and wondered if there was a better way to do it. If so, don’t hesitate to join.

Sign up. I got more value out of two days than I could learn on my own in years of stumbling through the challenges to figure them out.

Ground Crew was an amazing experience. We received so many new ideas and encouragement through hosting. It was awesome to see how others operate and be able to receive and also share ideas and insight to fellow dirt world lovers. A rising tide lifts all boats and Benjamin is helping us all work together to build better organizations for ourselves, our employees and our industry.

Who can join a Ground Crew Peer Group?

The Ground Crew has a very simple bar that applicants have to clear: They need to be Humble and Hungry.

Humble enough to recognize that they don’t know it all. There’s always more to learn and improve on.

Hungry enough to be ready to change when presented with new ideas and information. They have to take action in order to prove that they’ve learned.

This remains a solid filter for the Ground Crew, and even after putting a bunch of peer groups together, I have yet to find a dud.

There’s a whole new wave of contractors who are seeing opportunity, watching what’s working for other companies, and have their ego in check so they can actually do something about it.

Nothing but respect for how hard this business is and for those with a growth mindset that embody the Ground Crew values: Humble and hungry.

My hat is off to you.
